Lesson Etiquette
Be prepared for your lesson. The best gift to a teacher is our personal practice. Five to seven days a week is best, for the same length of time as that of the lesson, or longer when the energy is available.
Arrive promptly, time missed due to tardiness will not be returned in any form.
Students are responsible for attending each lesson with properly cared for equipment and books.
Scheduling & Fees
Payment is due ahead of time, by the 1st of each month for that month’s regularly scheduled classes.
Studio lessons are 30, 45, or 60 min., which are $70, $90, and $100.
Traveling lessons are the same rate for individual students plus a $50 traveling fee per visit.
During the school year students may reschedule one lesson, to be made up during the last full week of the student’s school year. You must notify me before the start time of the missed class in order to qualify for the makeup. Any other time missed due to absence or tardiness for any reason (illness, injury, etc.), with the exception of those below, is billed in full. This is a similar and standard policy as with other music schools in nyc, it helps me to live a peaceful life and be fully present and available for you each week of our class.
Lessons falling on the day of the student’s official school calendar vacations and holidays, including summer, are optional. Cancellation for these lessons is minimum 24 hours notice for refund.
At no penalty to the student, any time missed for any reason by the teacher will be made up. Any lessons missed due to severe weather must be made up before the end of the school year.
